An editorial wire for Ontario's electricity and natural gas sector.
Every OEB filing, IESO policy update, ministerial directive, enforcement letter, and association submission — collated, time-stamped, and dated against the document's own letterhead. Built so utility regulatory teams, law firms, and energy professionals can read the morning's news in 90 seconds instead of opening fourteen tabs.
What we publish, and what we don't.
Currentline is an aggregator, not a primary publisher. We collect items from the public-record sources listed below, normalise their metadata (date, utility, EB number, severity), and present them in a single time-ordered wire. We do not edit the source material. Every item links back to its original publisher.
The Daily Wire briefing on the home page is generated from the previous 24-72 hours of items and surfaces the most consequential filings of the day. Ledes and per-item glosses are written algorithmically from the source titles and descriptions; analysis paragraphs for paid subscribers are reviewed before they ship.
We do not accept advertising, sponsored content, or paid placements. Currentline is supported by subscription revenue only.
Where the wire comes from.
We monitor six institutions across sixteen dedicated feeds:
- Ontario Energy Board— newsroom, what's-new newsletter, EB cases, archived applications, regulatory documents, ministerial directives, RRR filings, enforcement proceedings, staff bulletins.
Independent Electricity System Operator— news releases, publications, speeches & presentations.
Ontario Ministry of Energy & Mines — official announcements via the Ontario Newsroom JSON feed.
Canadian Energy Regulator — federal newsroom + authoritative date-modified extraction per release.- Electricity Canada — national industry association news and publications.
Electricity Distributors Association of Ontario — news + advocacy submissions to OEB / IESO / Government / sector.
When we're wrong.
Because we aggregate rather than report, factual errors on Currentline almost always reflect either (a) a metadata extraction mistake on our end (wrong utility tag, wrong date, wrong EB number) or (b) an error on the source page that we inherited.
For category (a): email corrections@currentlinewire.com with the item URL and what should be corrected. We aim to push fixes within one refresh cycle (≤15 minutes during business hours).
For category (b): we'll note the source-page discrepancy on the Currentline item and link to the corrected source entry once the publisher updates it. We do not silently overwrite source content.
Currentline is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, or regulatory advice. For regulatory action, rate filings, compliance deadlines, or legal matters, consult the source document and your own counsel. Original reporting and publication rights belong to the source publishers linked from each item.
